In 2010 we had one hunter with a bear tag as you can see he killed a beautiful 6ft 6in 500lb black bear. For 2011 if a hunter decides to purchase a bear tag ( $260.00 ) he or she can kill a bear for a trophy fee of $1000.00. No kill no pay. Our unit bear hunt works on a quota system once the quota is met the season closes. In 2010 our hunters had seen a total of seven bears with two being color phase. Bears can be taken in the archery season as well as muzzleloader.
